Ruby Bryant Painter
Ruby Bryant Painter passed away peacefully on January 30, 2026.
Ruby was a devoted member of Bonsack Baptist Church, where she had faithfully worshiped since 1967. She found her greatest joy in time spent with her family, along with traveling, caring for her church family, and tending to her landscaping—activities that reflected her nurturing and loving spirit.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Roy Norman “Norman” Painter; her father, Okey Canaan Bryant; and her mother, Edna Florence Dew Bryant.
Those left to cherish her memory include her children: Terry Painter; Richard (Gina) Painter; Robin (Mike) Jeffries; Rodney (Debbie) Painter; and Russ Painter.
She is also survived by her grandchildren: Shonacy (Alex) Cox; Stephanie (Josh) Keith; Chelsea (David Brumback) Milliner; Lindsey Painter; Zach Painter; and Wesley Painter; and her great-grandchildren: Jakobie Cox; Liam Cox; Jonah Keith; Luca Keith; Karla Brumback; and Miles Brumback.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to their family and friends for a lifetime of love and support, as well as to the Friendship Feinour Center for their care over the past several years and the Carilion Hospice Team for their compassionate care and guidance during Ruby’s final days.
The family will receive friends at Rader Funeral Home in Daleville on Saturday, February 7, 2026, from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m., with a funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.
Memorial donations may be made to Bonsack Baptist Church, though flowers are also welcomed.
