Russell Wayne Harless

Russell Wayne Harless, 83, of Salem passed away on October 19, 2024.

A native of Virginia he was born May 2, 1941 to Zannie Harless and Lelia Vaught Harless, both deceased. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Sally Marie Harless; and brothers, Herbert Harless and Edwin Harless. Russell worked for the Virginia Department of Transportation out of the Salem, Virginia office for 30 years and retired on October 1, 1991.

Those left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Kim Parris and husband Edward; son, Dale Harless and wife Candy; grandsons, Andrew Parris and wife Briana, AJ Parris and girlfriend Kelsey, Aaron Parris and wife Sarah, and Hunter Harless; great grandchildren, Jackson, Liam, Bella, Jamison, Sawyer, Wyatt, Teagan, and Waylon; and sister, Lorene Tolley.

The family will receive friends at Lotz Funeral Home in Salem on Thursday, October 24, 2024 from 6:00 until 8:00 pm.

A memorial service will be held in the chapel of Lotz Funeral Home in Salem on Friday, October 25, 2024 at 2:00 pm with Rev. Mark Tolley officiating. Burial will follow in Sherwood Memorial Park.
