Ruth Keyser
Ruth Scruggs Keyser, 93, of Clifton Forge, VA, passed away on March 30, 2026 after a brief illness. She was born on February 9, 1933 to the late Claude H. and Bessie Lee Fairburn Scruggs. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her infant daughter; her husband of 60 years, Kenneth Kyle Keyser; brothers Ike Scruggs, Oscar Scruggs, Harry Scruggs, James Scruggs, and Bobby Scruggs; sisters Mildred Scruggs Hudgins and Helen Scruggs Reese; and several nieces and nephews.
She is survived by her daughter Robin Keyser Pullen (Eddie) of Kingsport, TN; son Steven Kyle Keyser (Joanna) of Martinsville, VA; granddaughters Kate Hall (Brandon) of Knoxville, TN and Sarah Beth Morrison (Gregory) of Martinsville, VA; grandsons Andy Pullen (Sarah) of Kingsport, TN and Zachary Keyser (Laura) of Martinsville, VA; and sister and best friend Mary Scruggs Hayes of Radford, VA. She is also survived by eight great-grandchildren: Emma Jane, Blake, Clara, Jackson, Charlie, Benjamin, Frankie, and Allie, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Ruth was a proud mother and grandmother. She loved nothing more than sitting on her porch swing with family and friends or a good long phone call to catch up with those she loved. She loved photographs and documenting memories of her family. She was a long term member of Central United Methodist Church.
The family wishes to express its deep gratitude to the team at Wexford House in Kingsport, TN for their dedication and loving care and to Kathy and Chris Smith for their unwavering companionship bringing immense joy to our Mom’s last few months.
A family memorial service will be held at a later date.
