Ryan Blake Carter
RYAN BLAKE CARTER, 49, of Bastian, Va., departed this life on July 12, 2022.
He is survived by two sons, Ryan Carter Jr. and Kendrick Carter; his father, Kenneth Carter (Betty) of Bastian; his siblings, Dr. Ralph Compton (Laura) of Berea, Ky., Reniá Brizendine (Donnie) of Bastian, Rick Compton (Della) of Myrtle Beach, S.C., Randy Carter (Carolyn) of Bastian, Rachelle Palmer (Dennis) of Bluefield, Va., Hershell (Alice) of Bastian, Ben Carter of Bastian, Chase Carter of Bastian, and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Ryan was preceded in death by his mother, Lois Poe; his grandparents, Claude and Sarah Carter, Jack and Nada Poe, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Ryan was born on October 11, 1972, in Bluefield, W.Va. He was a graduate of George Wythe High School where he participated in many sports and was fondly known as "Red Fox." Ryan was very intelligent which served him well in his work. He enjoyed his work in the gas field. He was an avid RPG (Role Playing Game) enthusiast. He was very competitive and loved card and board games as well. He also liked fishing. He was a very giving person and always ready to help anyone.
The family will hold a private service. The family appreciates everyone's love and support during this time.
Those who wish to honor Ryan's memory may do so by donating to "Remembering Ryan", the family's team for the local, Out of the Darkness Community Walk sponsored by the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. The walk will be held on September 10, 2022, in Princeton, W.Va.
