Sadie Jacqueline Koger

Sadie Jacqueline Koger, 94, of Bassett, Virginia, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, June 15, 2025. She was born on February 16, 1931, in Virginia to the late Carper Harbour and Florence Martin Harbour. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jessie L. Koger; three brothers, Edward Harbour, Robert Harbour, and Henry Harbour; and two sisters, Eva Wagoner and Mary Flippin.

Sadie was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She cherished time spent with her family and had a heart for caring for others. Her warm presence and her tradition of cherished Sunday morning breakfasts will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She attended Faith Fellowship of Bassett.

She is survived by her three sons, David L. “PT” Koger (Nancy), Paul Wayne “Chub” Koger (Peggy), and Gary L. “Porky” Koger (Debbie); one grandson; two step-grandsons; two great-grandsons; two step great-granddaughters; and a host of extended family and friends.

Sadie’s legacy of love, kindness, and dedication to family will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Bassett Funeral Service Chapel, with Pastor Freddie Bonds officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., prior to the service. Burial will follow at Liberty Primitive Baptist Church.
