Sally Marion Linares

Sally Marion Linares, age 90, of Blacksburg, VA died on June 14, 2024, at LewisGale Hospital Montgomery, was born in India on February 2, 1934, to the late Brigadier Frederick William Stevens and Helen Mary Stevens. Is survived by Anthony Linares, of Blacksburg, VA; Daughter: Victoria Linares Ceylan (Asim) of Bridgwater, CT; Son: Steven Linares (Ivy) of Cary, NC; Son: Robert Linares, LtCol, USAF (Retired) of Springfield, VA; Son: Christopher Linares (Denise) of Blacksburg, VA; Grandchildren: Greg Linares, Kara Linares, Olivia Linares, CJ Linares, AJ Ceylan, Gianna Linares, Madelyn Linares, Ryan Ceylan, Benjamin Linares, and Great Granddaughter Skylar Logan. Sally was born in Rawalpindi, India, and lived there for 11 years with her family. They then moved back to England after World War II where she received her RN degree from St. Thomas’ Hospital in London. In 1959, she came to the United States for additional nursing training and never left, staying with her three best friends. Sally continued her career as a RN in New York and Connecticut for 35 years before retiring to Blacksburg with her husband in 1993. Sally was a very loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She enjoyed collecting fine things, watching tennis, helping others and volunteering.
