Samuel Joseph Farthing

Samuel Joseph Farthing, age 42 of Eden, North Carolina passed away March 8, 2025. Mr. Farthing was born February 17, 1983 in Blairs, Virginia to the late Shirley Parrish Farthing and the late Rudy Clay Farthing, Sr.

He proudly served our country in the US Army and was a turf specialist in the landscaping industry. He will always be remembered as being kindhearted and devoted by his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Grace Schaefer Farthing of the residence; his three daughters, Abigail Schaefer, Logan Farthing, and Kennedy Farthing; three sons, William Schaefer, Noah Farthing, and Samuel Joseph Farthing, Jr.; two sisters, Christina Campbell (Michael) and Brandi Rowland (Phillip); and three brothers, Rudy Clay Farthing, Jr. (Melinda), Ronald Farthing (Barbie), and James M. Farthing (Laura).

In addition to his beloved parents, he was also predeceased by one brother, Michael Wayne Farthing.

A funeral service will be held Sunday, March 16, 2025, 2:00 p.m. at Norris Funeral Service, Mt. Hermon Chapel, 3995 Franklin Turnpike Danville, Virginia with Pastor Benny Wood officiating. Burial will follow at the Farthing Family Cemetery, 521 Chestnut Ridge Rd. Keeling, Virginia 24566. A visitation will be held prior to the funeral from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., also at Norris, Mt Hermon Chapel.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial donations be made to Keeling Volunteer Fire Department, 2200 Oak Grove Rd. Keeling, VA 24566
