Samuel "Sammy" Dale Nester

Samuel “Sammy” Dale Nester, 66, passed from this earth Friday, May 30, 2025, in Durham, North Carolina. He was born May 9, 1959, in Pulaski, Virginia, to the late Coy Nester and Josie Viars Nester.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sons, Richard Leonard Cline, Matthew Daniel Cline; brothers, Donald Warren Nester and Jerry Wayne Nester.

Sammy worked many years for Otis Joyce Properties as a repairman and was a valued employee because of his work ethic. In his spare time, he enjoyed yard work and repairing cars with diligence and excellence.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Mary; daughters, Jennifer Gail Bitz, Jamie Lynn Staples; brothers, Michael Coy Nester and Ronnie Lee Nester; 10 precious grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

A funeral will be held Wednesday, June 4, 2025, at 2:30 PM at Wright Funeral Service Chapel with Pastor Robert Hilburn officiating. Interment will be at Fair Haven Memorial Park. Visitation will be Tuesday, June 3, 2025, from 6:00 PM-8:00 PM at Wright Funeral Service Chapel.
