Samuel Thomas Hamm

Samuel Thomas Hamm, 62, of Stuart, Virginia, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on October 31, 2025. He was born on August 28, 1963, in Martinsville, Virginia, to Loretta Boyd Hamm and the late Roy Hamm.

A beloved soul that touched many lives. Sam will be remembered as a kind, loving, hardworking, and peaceful person who loved his family very much. He taught us the value of strength, kindness, and resilience. He instilled a strong foundation of love and compassion in his children. He will be deeply missed by his family and all who loved him.

Sam attended Patrick County High School before working in various jobs related to woodworking, equipment operator, landscaping, and other fields. He loved gardening, classic cars, motorcycles, and spending time with family and friends.

Sam is survived by his two daughters, Mindy Hamm (Daniel Perry) and Mandy Hamm McGhee (Jason McGhee); lifelong partner and caregiver, Donna Dalton; his two grandchildren, Audrey McGhee, and Brynleigh Perry; his mother, Loretta Boyd Hamm; his siblings, Allen Hamm, Timothy Hamm, Donna Harris (Tommy Harris), Joel Hamm; several nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog, Jack.

Those we love don’t go away, they walk beside us every day… unseen, unheard, but always near, still loved, still missed and very dear.

A Celebration of Life service will be announced at a later date.

The family wishes to thank the respective medical staff at Sovah Hospital, Dr. Fein, and family and friends who assisted Samuel during his illness.
