Sandra Funkhouser McKinnis

Sandra Funkhouser McKinnis, 87, passed away peacefully on September 23, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Alliance, OH on August 2, 1937 to the late Maggie Enolia Porter Funkhouser and the late Roy Allen Funkhouser. She was also predeceased by her loving husband of many years, Mr. Donald Elwood McKinnis.

Sandra was of the Christian Faith, and a member of White Oak Worship Center. She was a member of the Faith Christian Mission Group. She worked for many years as a Baby Sitter for many years previous to her retirement.

Sandra is survived by two sons; Richard McKinnis and wife Laura of Lumberton, TX, and Roy McKinnis and wife Julia of Danville, VA; four grandchildren; Cayce Lipford (Scott), Taylor McKinnis (Evelyn), Dallen McKinnis (Victoria), and John McKinnis (special friend Ally); four great grandchildren; Colby Lipford, Carter Lipford, Susannah Wilkinson, and Elijah McKinnis; and special friends; Kathy Aherron and Peggy Moran.

In addition to her parents and husband, Sandra was predeceased by sister; Sally Quam and her husband Paul.

A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, September 27, 2024 at 11:00am at White Oak Worship Center, 8465 US-29, Blairs, VA with Pastor Roger Ewing officiating. Interment will follow at Danville Memorial Gardens. A visitation will be held prior to the service from 10-11:00am also at White Oak Worship Center. At other times the family will receive friends at the residence of her son, Roy McKinnis at 124 Granite Drive, Danville, VA 24540.
