Sandy Taylor
Sandra Kay Taylor, affectionately known as Sandy to her friends and loved ones, of the Clendennin Community in Narrows, Virginia passed away peacefully on January 8, 2025, in Christiansburg, VA, at the age of 64. Born on April 14, 1960, in Maryland, Sandy was a vibrant soul who filled every room with her blue eyes. Her life was a testament to the power of love, the thrill of adventure, and the depth of familial bonds.
Sandy's journey began as the cherished daughter of Clarence and Dorothy Marshall Harry, who preceded her in death. Her early years in Maryland laid the foundation for a life marked by compassion and resilience. Sandy's loving spirit extended to her own family, including her son, Caleb Taylor, who stood by her as her knight in shining armor, and her daughter, Erica Alls-Wilkins (married to Joe), who was her adored princess. Sandy's heart overflowed with pride and joy for her grandchildren, Malachi, Guinevere, Athena, Elijah, Faith, Angel, and Jace, each of whom brought immeasurable happiness to her life.
Sandy's sister, Debby Harry, and her special sister-in-law, Susie Harvey, along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins, will fondly remember her infectious laughter and boundless energy. The memory of Sandy's beloved husband, Ricky Taylor, who had previously passed away, continued to resonate in her love for life. She was also preceded in death by her siblings, Vada Bailey, Rebecca Mattox, and Jeanette Delegrande, whose memories she held close to her heart.
Professionally, Sandy was known for her work as the manager of Dollar General, where she not only led her team with dedication but also formed lasting friendships and connections. Sandy's interests outside of work were as varied and colorful as her personality. An avid reader, she found solace and adventure within the pages of books. Her garden was a place of tranquility and beauty, reflecting her nurturing nature. Always up for a shopping trip, Sandy delighted in finding treasures for her loved ones, especially her grandchildren. Her free spirit was matched by her boundless energy, which she often channeled into rides on the motorcycle with her husband, feeling the wind in her hair and the freedom of the open road. Above all, Sandy was a lover of dogs, whose companionship brought her immeasurable comfort and joy. Her grandchildren were the light of her life, and she cherished every moment spent with them, whether it was reading stories, playing games, or simply being present in their lives.
Those who knew Sandy would describe her as loving and adventurous. Her love knew no bounds, and her adventurous spirit led her to embrace life's twists and turns with grace. Her legacy is one of unconditional love, fearless exploration, and the simple joy of living each day to the fullest.
