Sarah Cook Reid

Sarah Cook Reid, 81, of Martinsville, VA passed away Friday, August 4, 2023. She was born June 7, 1942 to the late William Eugene Cook and Edna Cook Ellis. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Rebecca Reid Stump.

Mrs. Reid was of the Baptist faith and worked as a nurse for Sovah-Martinsville for 45 years.

She is survived by her husband, Otha Garland Reid, Jr.; sons, David William Reid (Shaye) and Otha Garland Reid, III. She is also survived by seven grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, August 8, 2023 at Norris Funeral Services, Martinsville Chapel and other times at the home. Graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, August 9, 2023 at Danville Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
