Sharline Jefferson Burnett

Sharline Jefferson Burnett, age 84 of Ringgold, VA passed away on August 9, 2024, at SOVAH Health in Danville, VA. She was born December 12, 1939, in Danville, VA to the late Emma Hanks Jefferson and the late Howard Jefferson. She was married to Melvin Delano Burnett, who survives of the residence.

Sharline was a lifelong member of the Tabernacle, as well as a member of the Danville Line Dancing Club. She was an avid painter and sketch artist.

She worked for many years as a hairdresser, and 15 years of retail service at Belk Leggett.

In addition to her husband of 58 years, Sharline is survived by daughter Michelle Burnett Young, son Melvin D. Burnett II (Julie), and grandchildren Cole Young (Emma), Cody Young, Lance Burnett, and Samuel Burnett.

The family would like to offer a special thanks to Commonwealth Hospice and the nurses and aides of Sovah Health 6th floor.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 13 at 2:00 p.m. at Norris Funeral Service, Mt. Hermon Chapel with Pastor Michael Pressley officiating, with visitation starting one hour prior. Burial will follow at Highland Burial Park, Danville, VA.
