Sharon Blankenship

Sharon Sue Jones Blankenship, 74 of Narrows, VA., went to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 22, 2026, at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital.  Sharon was born on July 15, 1951, in the Bluefield Hospital in Bluefield, WV. and was a daughter of the late Marvin Carl Jones and Violet Juanita French.

Sharon was a lifelong resident of Wolf Creek (Narrows), and was a 1969 graduate of Narrows High School Green Wave.  She was a member of the Cornerstone Church in Narrows.  She was a former employee of the Magic Mart Department store in Pearisburg and was a retired employee of the Celco Credit Union in Narrows.  She was an avid Green Wave fan and VA Tech football fan.  She enjoyed trips with her family, including trips to Pigeon Forge, TN with Jimmy and Margie Furrow, trips to the beach and ship cruises. 

She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Jerry L. Blankenship of Narrows, 2 sons, Robbie Lee Blankenship (Tammy) of Narrows, Kristopher W. Shrader (Christy) of Penhook, 2 daughters, Lisa Blankenship of Narrows, Julie Shuff (Michael) of Narrows, 11 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and a first cousin that she thought of as a sister, Kathy Bowles of Narrows.

As per Sharon’s wishes, she will be cremated and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
