Sharon Kay Johnson
Sharon Kay Johnson, 88, of Lynchburg passed away Thursday, March 27, 2025. She was the daughter of the late Charles Eberly and Violet Ann Eberly.
Born September 10, 1936 Sharon was a cherished and devoted member of Gethsemane Baptist Church, where her faith and kindness touched many lives. She placed great value on family and made it a priority to spend time with her loved ones, often traveling across the country to be with them. Whether it was a simple visit or a special occasion, she never hesitated to go the distance to connect with those she held dear.
Beyond her family visits, Sharon had a deep love for travel and adventure. She found joy in scenic bus tours that took her to various states, allowing her to explore beautiful landscapes and iconic landmarks. These trips brought her a sense of excitement and fulfillment, as she embraced the opportunity to experience new places and create lasting memories.
Sharon was also a devoted fan of Elvis Presley. Her admiration for the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll was evident in the memorabilia that adorned her home, serving as a reflection of her lifelong appreciation for his music and legacy. Another of her passions was collecting antique model cars, which she proudly displayed as part of her treasured collection.
Above all, Sharon was known for her spirit and the love she shared with those around her. She had a way of making people feel special and valued, leaving a lasting impression on everyone she met. Her warmth, kindness, and unwavering devotion to her family and friends will be remembered always. Sharon’s presence will be deeply missed, but the love she gave so freely will live on in the hearts of those who knew her.
In addition to her parents Sharon was preceded in passing by two siblings, Charlene Harvey and Pattie Eberly Bahler; two children, Charles Johnson and Tony Dean Johnson; and her son in law, James Farmer.
Those left to cherish Sharon’s memory include her children Ted D. Johnson and his wife Pam, Kenneth J. Johnson and his wife Peggy, Gina Farmer; her siblings Marty Eberly, Vicki Picard; her closest friend Ozelia Farmer; and she was blessed with numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A celebration of Sharon’s life will be held at a later date.
