Sheila Ann Doyle

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved daughter, sister & aunt, Sheila Ann Chitwood Doyle on June 17, 2024, at her home in Roanoke, Va. She was born on March 16, 1957 in Martinsville, Va. Sheila served in the US Army and worked as a licensed Optician while serving. Her love for the outdoors and music were only surpassed by the love she had for her family. She truly loved being with them. Sheila loved fishing, playing her guitar, spending time on the lake, at the beach and in the mountains. She was predeceased by her father, Joseph B. Chitwood, who passed away on October 15, 2006 and her husband, Wilbur S. “Smitty” Doyle, Jr., who passed away on August 5,2022. She is survived by her mother, Bessie V. Chitwood of Martinsville, Va; brother, Bernie Chitwood, of Bassett, Va. (Donna); sisters, Gail Chitwood Dowell (Mike) and Lynn Chitwood, of Roanoke, Va.She was also greatly loved and will be greatly missed by her nephews, Brett Bowen (Amelia/Spouse), Mount Holly, NC and Sean Bowen, Mooresville, NC; nieces, Melissa Chitwood, Fieldale, Va., Jaime Danenhower (Tyler) Midland, NC and Ali Elder (Jordan), Conover, NC.; 6 great nieces and nephews and her Maltese, Luther.The visitation and memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 29, 2024 at McKee Funeral Home, Martinsville, VA. The visitation will begin at 1:00 PM and the memorial service, with Military Honors, will begin at 2:00 PM.
