Sheila Elizabeth Lawrence Lancaster

Sheila Elizabeth Lawrence Lancaster March 16 1939 -  July 31 2024.

Sheila was a kind, loving, and easy- going person. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. The only child of Emily and Carl Lawrence, she was born and grew up in Roanoke, Va. As a child she enjoyed accompanying her father to the downtown theatre where he worked, and playing ball with her neighborhood friends. She attended William Fleming High School where she graduated in 1957. She later attended Lewis Gale school of nursing, and graduated class of 1960. She worked as an R.N. for a number of years.  That same year Sheila married Bob, and they enjoyed 62 wonderful years together.

Sheila had a love of music and a beautiful singing voice. She was a long- time member of Northminster Presbyterian Church and it’s choir. She had a great fondness for sports, cheering on the Cowboys, Cubs, and her favorite, the Wahoos. She is survived by her daughter Carolyn (Fred), son Bill (Tracy), and grandchildren Jimmy, Darryl, and Justin. She will be dearly missed by all!

The family will receive friends at Lotz Funeral Home in Salem on Friday, August 9, 2024 from 5:00 until 7:00 pm.

A funeral service will be held at 2:30 pm in the Chapel of Lotz Funeral Home in Salem on Saturday, August 10, 2024. Burial will follow in Sherwood Memorial Park.
