Sheila Kellerman Mullis

Our beloved Sheila K. Mullis, 73, of Roanoke, Virginia returned to her heavenly home on September 10, 2023. Sheila was a fierce and loyal soul who is deeply loved and will be dearly missed by those closest to her. Sheila wasborn in New York, NY on September 24, 1949 to the late Abraham and Virginia Kellerman. She grew up in Valdosta, GA with her close knit family and met the love of her life James Mullis. Together the two married and moved to Princeton, WV, where they spent over 35 years playing card games, cherishing time with loved ones, and raising their daughter Kelie. Sheila has called Roanoke home for the past 10 years. She loved cooking and spending time with family, including her three grandchildren almost as much as they enjoyed spending time with her.Shelia was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church and Shenandoah Baptist Church, an avid reader, and a beast at Rook.

Sheila is survived by her husband of 57 years James Mullis, daughter Kelie Smith & son in law Chris Smith of Roanoke, grandchildren Peyton Toney (Ryan) of Roanoke, Aubree Smith of Gig Harbor, Washington and LCP Tanner Smith of USMC, sisters Cheryl Wheeler, Annette Fender, brother in law David Fender all of Valdosta, GA, and brother Lon (Dede) Kellerman of St. Augustine, FL. She was the favorite aunt of numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her beloved parents Abraham and Virginia (Lane) Kellerman. Siblings: Brother Barry Kellerman and sisters Sandra Miller and Carol Kellerman, as well as her brothers in law Jim Miller and Jim Wheeler, two infant sons and special nephew Matt Fender.

Funeral services will be conducted 12:00 p.m. Thursday, September 14, 2023 at Simpson Funeral Home 5160 Peters Creek Road by PastorMichael Wilburn.
