Sheila Yvonne Kitchen
Sheila Yvonne Kitchen, 73, of Madison Heights, went to be with her Lord on Friday, January 31, 2025. Born in Lynchburg on August 16, 1951, Sheila was the daughter of the late George R. Kitchen and Madeline Ponton Kitchen.
Sheila was a dedicated and compassionate nurse’s aide at the Central Virginia Training Center, from which she retired after many years of service. Above all, Sheila’s greatest love was for her Lord and Savior. She was a devout prayer warrior, offering prayers for others with unwavering faith. She also had a heart for her community, sharing her love and care through her card ministry. Sheila made it a point to send cards to friends and loved ones during the holidays and times of illness, bringing joy and comfort to many.
Known for her kindness, warmth, and welcoming nature, Sheila never met a stranger and was loved by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her generous spirit and sweet demeanor left a lasting impression on everyone she encountered.
Sheila is survived by her brother, George R. “Ronnie” Kitchen; and Otis and Amy Tyree, whom she considered her children, and their daughter, Allie, whom she cherished as a granddaughter.
A graveside service will be conducted at 12:00 Noon on Wednesday, February 5, 2025, at Meade Cemetery, with the Rev. Tommy McBride officiating.
