Sheridan "Chip" Dimon
Sheridan “Chip” Dimon, Jr. of Covington, passed away on Thursday, November 21, 2024, at Lewis-Gale Hospital Alleghany in Low Moor, surrounded by his loving family.
Chip was born, April 8, 1963, in Winchester, Virginia and was preceded in death by his parents, the late Sheridan Dimon, Sr. and Evelyn Dimon, who instilled in him a spirit of adventure and resilience.
Following his high school graduation in 1981 in Warren County in Front Royal, Sheridan enthusiastically joined the Navy, creating unforgettable memories and exciting stories he enjoyed sharing with everyone. His career at Garten Trucking further showcased his dedication and work ethic.
In 2002, he married his devoted partner, Donna Dimon, with whom he spent over 27 beautiful years.
Surviving to mourn his loss are his five daughters that he was so proud of, Sabrina Cash of Covington, Samantha and Bobby Hubbard of Covington, Brittany Cash and Michael Davis of Covington, Emily Dimon of Covington; his sister, Stephanie Dimon of Strasburg; along with his sisters-in law, Teresa and Gary Vance of Covington, Sheila and Larry Brewster of Covington; Wanda and Jeff Bogar of Covington and Ruby May of Covington; and his cherished bloodhound Daisy Mae. Sheridan’s legacy lives on through his ten grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
His greatest joy came from exploring the creek with his grandson and best friend, Brayden. He had a passion for NASCAR, loved listening to Lynyrd Skynyrd and often cooked generously, ensuring there was always more than enough to share. His love for Potts Creek was evident as he floated down the river while enjoying the scenic views.
Sheridan will be remembered for his warmth, laughter, “wise guy” sense of humor, and a knack for delivering spontaneous jokes that brightened the day. He truly brought joy to those around him and will be deeply missed. Sheridan will be rejoining his beloved bloodhound, “Duke”, while continuing to make the most of everyday.
A private service will be held on Monday.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 24, 2024, at Arritt Funeral Home from 3:00-4:30 PM.
