Sherry Harless Calderon
With great sadness and heavy hearts, we regret to inform you that Sherry Harless Calderon fought her last battle. There will be no more pain and no more fear. We are so happy that she gave her heart to the Lord.
Sherry passed away on February 1, 2025 at home which was where she wanted to be listening to the river and the trains go by before going to her final home to see the “Golden Gates”.
Sherry was born September 10, 1970 in Pearisburg, Virginia to William Lee and Betty Hypes Harless. Sherry is survived by her daughters, Stephanie Calderon and Caitlin Calderon; her mother, Betty Hypes Harless; sister, Donna Harless Gillispie (James); two nieces, Jordan Gillispie and Laurynn Gillispie. In her heart and with so much love, also her grandchildren, Surr Colton Kelly Dunn and Serenity Lee Dunn. Sherry leaves behind her ex-husband and father of her children, Jose Mauricio Calderon. She was preceded in death by her father, William Lee Harless and best friend, Beth Robinson.
Sherry was strong willed and determined. Sherry always loved animals, especially her cats, Mimi, Starla, and Stripey. She had her little dog Tink too.
Sherry loved “thrifting.” She and her dad were yard sale and flea market buddies. She would get so excited when she found a good deal. Sherry passed her Goodwill thrifting to her nieces.
Sherry loved music at times, if you were driving down River Road, you could hear it coming from the “holler.” If Sherry was your friend, she was loyal and guarded and protected those life-long relationships.
Sherry, we love you and you had been searching all your life for something. In your last days, you found it.
We will always keep you in our hearts until we meet again.
The family would like to leave on verse, especially to women. Matthew 7:15-20
There will be a private graveside service held for Sherry at a later date in Highland Memory Gardens in Dublin, Virginia where she will be laid to rest. A guestbook is available to send condolences to the family by visiting www.kendallfuneralhome.com. The staff of Kendall Funeral Home are honored to serve the Calderon family.
