Sherry Sparks Thigpen
Sherry Lynn Thigpen, 61, left her earthly body on Sunday, September 17, 2023 in the comfort of her own home. Sherry was a native of Asheboro, NC where most of her family continues to reside. Sherry began her love story with her adoring husband Mark and moved to Danville, VA where they currently reside.
Sherry worked as a store manager for Dollar Tree where she recently retired from several years of service. She had maintained positions throughout her life that she was fond of telling stories about.
To know her was a privilege. Sherry spoke of her family often and found her greatness in helping others. She had found the love of her life with Mark and often spoke of the day they would retire together and live out their lives in total bliss.
Her love of the Lord was strong and profound even in her final days. She knew the Lord had her in his arms during her entire battle with cancer and took comfort knowing she would be united with her Mighty King.
Sherry was a very proud mother of two beautiful daughters Jess and Shanna and son Blake. They were often said by her to be her greatest accomplishment.
No amount of words can describe Sherry. She loved the Lord, her family and her friends as well as her fur babies who remained by her side during her illness.
This has been a challenging time for her family and will continue to be in the upcoming days, weeks, and months. We find comfort that she is at home with her almighty and no longer suffering. She will be remembered by her contagious smile, positivity, wittiness and love she had each and every day.
The family would like to give a special thank you to Linda Gould for her time and dedication to helping Sherry and the family during this time and numerous church members and friends for everything to help Sherry fight her fight. God Bless you all!
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son; Blake Thigpen, daughters; Shanna Johnson (Kevin), Jessica Flowers (Seth), grandchildren; Reece, Logan and Madelynn Johnson, best friend; Nikki McCain.
