Shirley Foster Grant

Shirley Foster Grant, 88, passed away peacefully on August 15, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Ruffin, NC on October 24, 1935 to the late Elva Jackson Brown Foster and the late Leonard Odel Foster. She was also predeceased by her loving husband of many years, Mr. Audrey “Frank” Franklin Grant.

Shirley was of the Christian faith, and was a longtime member of Westover Baptist Church. She co-owned with her husband Frank, Grant and Shelton Manufacturing Company for many years previous to their retirement. She had a special love for the Beach, Fishing, and her flower garden.

Shirley is survived by two daughters; Debra Alderson of Ringgold, VA and Teresa Lewis and husband James of Chapin, SC.; five grandchildren; Amy Rojas and husband Eddie, Amanda Nunn and husband Jacob, Jordan Smith, Brandon Smith, and Alecia Smith; ten great grandchildren; Emma, Lucas, and Levi Rojas, Ryan, Madi, and Laynie Nunn, Conor Smith, Odin, Oliver, and Freya Hendershot; and a special cousin; Reva Lowder.

In addition to her parents and husband, Shirley was predeceased by a son in law; Mr. Guy Alderson.

A Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, August 18, 2024 at 3:00pm at Norris West End Chapel, Danville, VA with Pastor Doug Barber Officiating. Interment will follow at Dan River Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, 2014 Mayfield Road, Ruffin, NC 27326. A visitation will be held on the same day prior to the service from 2-3:00pm also at Norris West End Chapel, Danville, VA. At other times the family will receive friends at the residence.
