Shirley Gover Fulcher
Shirley Gover Fulcher, 89, of Collinsville, Virginia, peacefully transitioned from this life on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, at home. She was born on May 6, 1936, in Eden, North Carolina, to the late Sam Gover and Lura Hundley Gover. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, G.C. Fulcher and her son, Jeffrey C. Fulcher.
Shirley was a devoted member of Pleasant Grove Christian Church and lived a life marked by love, service, and strength. She worked as a sewer for Bassett-Walker for many years, taking pride in her craft. She also served as a Bus Driver in the Patrick County Public School System for many years. Outside of work, she enjoyed sewing. alterations, and spending cherished time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who were the joy of her heart.
Left to honor and cherish her memory are her children: daughters Lura Beckner (Terry) and Sherry Gallimore (Jerry), and her son Terrell Fulcher. She is also survived by her twelve grandchildren, Trey Millner, Jonathan Millner, Brian Millner, Samantha Hall (Glenn), Whitney Morgan (Brandon), Ann Catherine Harris, Addison Harris, Nakota Allen (David), Blake Gallimore, Kalen Moore (Adrain), Nicholas Beckner, and Aaron Beckner (Sadie); five great-grandchildren, Jordan Hall (Kielee), Kaylee Hall, Macie Hall, Jade Morgan, and William Beckner; two great great grandchildren, Oakley Hall and Hendrix Holland; her sister, Peggy Cox; special niece, Dorrie Coleman; and extended family, church family, and many dear friends who will deeply miss her warm spirit and presence.
A funeral service will be held on Sunday, November 23, 2025, at Pleasant Grove Christian Church at 2:00pm with Pastor Clyde Murray. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service. Interment will take place on Monday, November 24, 2025, at 1:00pm at Dan View Cemetery in Eden, North Carolina.
