Shirley Hunter Pollard

Shirley Hunter Pollard, 91, of Huddleston, VA passed away peacefully on March 20, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Shirley was born in New Hampshire on September 16, 1933 to the late Florence Greenaway Hunter and the late Thomas James Hunter. She was predeceased as well by her loving husband of many years, Mr. James Edward Pollard Sr.

Shirley was of the Episcopalian Faith. She worked for many years in the Textile Industry, previous to her retirement. She had a special love for her family, especially her Grandchildren, Great-Grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and pets.

Shirley is survived by a daughter; Faith Rector and husband Robert; a son; Michael Pollard and wife Lisa; a sister; Carol H. Alex; six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, and husband, Shirley was predeceased by a son; James E. Pollard Jr., and thirteen brothers and sisters.

In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial donations be made to your local Pet Animal Shelter or Humane Society.
