Shirley Louise Sheckler

Born in Bellefonte, PA on March 2, 1934, Shirley Sheckler left this life to join her husband, Louis Sheckler on December 3, 2024. They had been married and devoted to each other for 65 years. She leaves this world and her family in a better place because of her grace and guidance. 

The brilliant light of her personality, wit, and strong presence helped shape her children, Debra Sheckler and Drew Sheckler, as well as her grandchildren, Amber Wojceichowski, Corinne Sanders, Candice Dalton and Kyle Sheckler, and 6 great-grandchildren. 

Shirley graduated from Penn State University with a teaching degree in 1956, which is here she met her husband, Louis. They moved to Annandale, VA in 1965 where she taught elementary school as a substitute teacher for many years. After their retirement in 1987 they moved to Smith Mountain Lake, where they enjoyed the lake’s beauty, which they both adored, and then later to Roanoke.
