Sidney Estel Havens

SIDNEY ESTEL HAVENS, 78, formerly of the Hollybrook Community of Bland, VA, passed away Saturday, May 13, 2023 at Salem Health & Rehabilitation Center. He was born June 2, 1944 in Bland County, the son of the late Sidney & Hattie Havens.

Estel worked in landscaping and was a brick mason’s helper. His most cherished accomplishment in life was when he married the love of his life, Mary Anna Overbay, on March 3, 1969.

Estel was preceded in death by his parents, Sidney Earl & Hattie Victoria Townley Havens, his loving wife of 47 years, Mary Anna Overbay Havens, his brother, Clyde Wilmer Havens and his sisters, Carylene Stafford, Beatrice Millirons and Bernice Nance Carey.

Left to cherish his memory are a special brother-in-law, Robert Carey and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held Monday, May 15, 2023 at 11:00 A.M. at Morning Star Cemetery, Bland, VA, with Rev. Rodney Lawson officiating.
