Sidney "Sid" Floyd Graham
Sidney “Sid” Floyd Graham, 64, of Bassett, Virginia, was welcomed into the arms of Jesus Friday, September 5, 2025. He was born December 12, 1960, in Martinsville, Virginia, to the late William L’Kannah Graham, Jr. and Mywood Vester Dodson Graham.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 41 years, Elizabeth Elaine McMillan Graham.
Sid was of the Christian faith and a member of Faith Baptist Church, where he found a loving faith community. His faith was of utmost importance to him, and it was evident in the way he lived his life to honor God. He graduated from J.D. Bassett High School, class of 1979, and worked over 35 years as a lead mechanic at GR Chevrolet in Bassett as a shop foreman. His hard work ethic and dedication to his job resulted in him being listed as one of the top 20 mechanics with GM in the country. He was also a certified master Chevrolet technician. His accomplishments and accolades, however, paled in comparison to the great love he had for his family. As a loyal husband, father, and grandfather, he led by example and demonstrated the love of God to others.
His legacy of love and faith will forever be remembered by his family and all those who knew and loved him. Those left to cherish and honor his memory are his daughters, Christy Spencer (Jon), Telissa Hunt (Maurice), Alisha Hylton (Tim); son, Jason Graham (Lauren); sisters, Jo Ann Howell (Billy), Marie Graham Crawford (Randy); brother, George Wayne Graham (Patricia), and nine grandchildren, Josh, Alexis, Allison, Madison, Tristan, Hudson, Nora, Ava, and Logan.
A funeral will be Saturday, September 13, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Faith Baptist Church, located at 348 Clarence Martin Road, Bassett, Virginia, 24055, with Pastor David Towler officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Roselawn Burial Park in Martinsville, Virginia.
