Stephen Henry Austin

Stephen Henry Austin, 80, of Madison Heights passed away Saturday, March 2, 2025 at Autumn Care Altavista.

Born in Amherst on July 30, 1944, he was the son of the late Earnest Allen Austin and Mary Kent Austin. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife Sheila Taylor Austin as well as two brothers, William Austin and David Austin.

Stephen was a retired supervisor for the Central Virginia Training Center.

Left to cherish his memory are his son, Robert Austin; a daughter, Mary Austin-Keller and husband Michael; a brother, Donald Austin and wife Betty as well as a number of nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 12:30 – 1:20 pm on Monday, March 10, 2025 at Whitten Monelison Chapel where a Celebration of Life will follow at 1:30 pm. Burial will follow at Briarwood Memorial Gardens.
