Steve Shelton

Steve Shelton, age 62, of Martinsville, Virginia, passed away peacefully at Virginia Commonwealth University on April 21, 2023. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend to many.

Born on July 10, 1960, Steve grew up in Spencer, Virginia and went to Drewry Mason High School. He was a hardworking and dedicated man who spent much of his life working at Innofa USA LLC, where he was respected by his peers and superiors alike.

Steve is survived by his beloved wife of 41 years, Lisa Shelton, and their three children: Geron Shelton (Kimberly Shelton wife), Aleisha Hughes (Rakeem Hughes husband), and Allen Shelton (Tekelia Shelton wife). He was also a proud grandfather to 13 grandchildren who brought him endless joy and happiness. (Xzavier, Camron, Aswan, Zion, Alijah, GaMarley, London, Jeremiah, Moriah, Royce, Jaxson, Bryson, & Violet). Sisters Phyllis Marie Obery, Imogene “Nickie” Norton (Louis), Floriece Shelton; brothers-Randolph Scales (Marion), William Shelton, Edward Shelton, Jasper Shelton (Mimi), Leonard Shelton (Una).

Steve was a kind and faithful man who had a tremendous passion for excelling his legacy. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need and his generosity knew no bounds. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.

A celebration of Steve's life will be held on Thursday, April 28th at 12:00 P. M. at Wrights Funeral Service Chapel where family and friends will gather to remember him and share stories of his life. Visitation will be thirty minutes prior to the service. Burial will follow at Hailey Family Cemetery, 190 Brass Shop Road, Ridgeway, Virginia 24148. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to his wife’s cashapp @ $LisaMShelton.

Rest in peace, Steve. Your kind spirit and generous heart will never be forgotten.
