Steve Wilmer

Steve Conway Wilmer, Sr., age 77, of Clifton Forge, Virginia died Saturday, July 8, 2023 at his residence.

He was born May 20, 1946 in Clifton Forge, Virginia, a son to Rias Jasper and Christine Wilmer. He proudly served in Vietnam from 1967-1968 in the United States Army and was attached to the 1st Infantry Division and Combat Engineers. He was a supervisor for East Coast Oil for 20 plus years. He loved coaching youth sports and coached for over 40 years in Clifton Forge and remembered each player he coached.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Rias Jasper Wilmer, Jr., Connie Wilmer, Raymond Wilmer, Charles Wilmer and Reena Haines.

He is survived by his wife, Vicky L. Wilmer; two sons, Steve C. Wilmer, II and Patrick L. Wilmer; a daughter, Anne Adcock; two grandsons, Joseph Hartl and Ryan Greene; a granddaughter, Taylor Sullivan; two great granddaughters, Zoey and Lilly; a brother, John Wilmer; a special friend, J.W Dudding; and a number of nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, July 12, 2023 at 11:00AM in Central Advent Christian Cemetery, Clifton Forge with Reverend Bill Gilliland officiating. Interment will immediately follow. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service in Central Advent Christian Cemetery.
