Stewart E. Mason

Stewart E. Mason, age 66 of Rocky Mount died Thursday, September 15, 2022. He was born April 25, 1956 a son of the late Lloyd and Doris Mason. He was also preceded in death by his step-mother, Elaine Mason; brother, Leon Mason; and brother-in-law, Hilbert S. Lawrence. Surviving are his wife, Susan Mason; daughter, Jamie Mason; grandson, Jaxson Mason Ferguson; sister, Linda Lawrence; sister-in-law, Oneda Mason; step-sister, Patricia Gravely; numerous loving nieces and nephews. Mr. Mason retired following 31 years of service with Franklin County Public Schools. He taught autobody repair training in which many young men later chose as a career. Stewart truly loved his job and made life long friends with the teachers at the John L. Smith Career & Technical Center. A memorial service will be held 10 am Saturday, September 24, 2022 at Redwood United Methodist Church with Rev. Liz Lazenby officiating. There will be a meal to follow in the fellowship hall.
