Sue E. Harrison

Sue E. Harrison, 73, of Roanoke passed away on February 28, 2025.

Sue was born in Roanoke on June 17, 1951. She was the daughter of Mitchell W. Harrison and Mary L. Harrison, both deceased. She is survived by her sisters Judith A. Harrison and Mary Jane Harrison, both of Roanoke. Sue lived in Roanoke all of her life and was a graduate of Jefferson High School. She started her career in the business office setting then moved to retail where she often served in management positions. When not working Sue loved to sew, quilt, crochet, and knit. Over the years she would take on many sewing projects for both family and friends. She also loved cats and dogs, having both as pets over the course of her life. At her most recent residence she was not allowed a pet but would keep dog treats to feed any dogs that may have passed by when she was sitting outside. Sue enjoyed visiting with her relatives and taking trips with them. She was a gospel music fan, especially the Gaithers and Guy Penrod.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to her caregiver Wanda who was such a blessing to Sue, her sisters are so thankful for the love and care she showered on Sue. The family would also like to thank the staff at South Roanoke Nursing Home and the Carilion Hospice Team for their care of Sue. Thanks also to Nora, Sue’s roommate at the nursing home, for praying for Sue, playing gospel music from her phone and singing to her.

Honoring Sue's wishes there will be no public services. We’ll miss you Sue!
