Susan D. Puch

Susan Douglass Puch, 79, wife of Robert D. Puch, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 28, 2023. She was the daughter of the late Donald M. Douglass and the late Dorothy Cook Boghosian. She was also preceded in death by a half-brother, Robert Young.

Susan worked as a dental hygienist and later in life she worked for and retired as a retail manager for the Girl Scouts. She was involved with the Girl Scouts in multiple aspects for many years as a volunteer prior to working for the retail store. In between those two careers she was a fabulous stay at home mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved to travel with Charleston, SC and Gatlinburg, TN being two of her favorite places to go. She was an avid reader who enjoyed playing cards and anything to do with the outdoors.

In addition to her husband of 56 years, Robert, she will be missed and remembered by her daughters, Beverly Parcell (Claude), and Deborah Bolen; grandchildren, Douglas (Christin) Smith, Jackson Smith, Tyler (Courtney) Parcell, Taylor Parcell, Kendra Bolen, and Taylor Bolen; great-grandchildren, Braxton and Addison Smith, Aynzlea, Coleman and Benjamin Parcell, Emma Fields, Weston and Peyton Kenee; cousin, Louise Westcott; as well as her dogs whom she loved.

Services to honor her life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 1, 2023 in the Chapel of Simpson Funeral Home, 5160 Peters Creek Road with Pastor Troy Mays officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, June 30, 2023 at Simpson Funeral Home. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Blue Ridge Cancer Center or the Angels of Assisi.
