Susan Renee Darby

Mrs. Susan Renee Darby , age 60, of Galax, Virginia, passed away at her residence on Friday morning, November 8, 2024. Mrs. Darby was born in Surry County on June 3, 1964, to the late Herbert Hiatt, Sr., and Sarah Cockerham Hiatt. Mrs. Darby was a loving wife, mother and friend. She will be deeply missed by the many that were blessed to have known her. Surviving Mrs. Darby is her husband of 38 years, Robert Lee Darby; sons, David Darby, Dennis Darby; sister, Majeta Gray; brothers and sister-in-law, Herbert Hiatt, Jr., Eric Hiatt and Jenny. In addition to her father, Mrs. Dabry was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, George Gray. A celebration of her life will be held Thursday, November 14, 2024, at 2 PM at Genesis Full Gospel Church. The family will receive friends from 1 PM until the time of the service. Flowers will be accepted, or donations may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice. Moody’s of Mount Airy is respectfully serving the Darby family.
