Sylvester "Hank" Lee Odum

Sylvester “Hank” Lee Odum, 85, husband of Eunice Ann Thomas Odum, went to be with the Lord on Friday, October 25, 2024. He was the son of the late John Henry and Susie Webb Odum. He was also preceded in death by 13 brothers and sisters.

He was retired after 42 years of truck driving. He loved his family and so enjoyed spending time watching his grandchildren and great-grandchildren play sports. He was a jokester and would always say “Hank, you are alright. You are a fine gentleman” and he was.

In addition to his wife of 64 years, Eunice Ann Odum, he will be missed and remembered by his daughter, Cynthia Odum Howell (Bobby); son, Brian Odum (Terresa); grandchildren, Sarah Hicks, Joshua Hicks (Christa), Dustin Odum, Darren Odum, and Dylan Odum; great-grandchildren, Kandace Hicks, Kiersten Hicks, and Zoey Mason; brother, Calvin “Cowboy” Odum (Helen); sister, Elizabeth “Topsie” Dixon (Arvin); as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other loving family members and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 3 P.M. on Wednesday, October 30, 2024 in the Chapel of Simpson Funeral Home, 5160 Peters Creek Road with Rev. AC Hollins officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service beginning at 2 P.M.

A graveside service will be held at 2 P.M. on Friday, November 1, 2024 in Forest Hills Memory Gardens, Abingdon, VA with Pastor David Lowe officiating.
