Sylvia Parker Kidd
Sylvia Parker Kidd, 83, of Evington, passed away Thursday, June 5, 2025, at her home.
Born April 3, 1942, in Lynchburg, she was the daughter of the late Johnnie and Beatrice Parker. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Douglas Jennings Kidd, and daughters, Kimberly “LeeLee” Kidd and Christie Wingfield.
Sylvia lived a life rooted in simplicity and quiet purpose. A homemaker for most of her years, she found her calling not in accolades or ambition, but in the rhythms of daily life — caring for her family, her pets, and her community. She was a Life Member of the Campbell County Rescue Squad and a long-standing member of Salem United Methodist Church, where she found fellowship and faith.
She is survived by her sons, Scottie Ray Kidd (Patricia) of Rustburg and Johnnie Mac Kidd of Evington; grandchildren, Joshua Wingfield, Dakota Kidd, and Kristen Arthur; and one great-grandchild.
A service to celebrate her life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 7, 2025, at Salem United Methodist Church with Pastor Chuck Schooler officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Those wishing to honor Sylvia’s memory are invited to make contributions to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at www.stjude.org.
She lived plainly, loved deeply, and left quietly — and that was enough.
