Tammy Jean Terry Obituary Tammy Jean Hale Terry, 54, of Troutville, Virginia, passed away on Saturday, August 24, 2024. Born on December 29, 1969, to the late James Henry Hale, Jr. and Barbara Ann Miller, she is also preceded in death by her grandparents, James Henry, Sr., and Virginia Carroll Hale, and Henry Clay and Elizabeth Evelyn Miller; brother, James Henry Hale, III, as well as her favorite German Shepherd, Abby.If one phrase could describe Tammy, it would be the “life of the party.” She loved getting together with friends and family and she made sure everyone felt special and was having a good time. Tammy loved to shop, but not always for brand new things; she especially enjoyed rummaging through thrift stores and antique shops for unique and vintage treasures for her collection. Family gatherings were special to Tammy, and she loved to cook for and entertain those she loved most. Tammy loved and lost quite a few fur babies throughout her life and will be greatly missed by her current canine companion, Benjamin.Those left to cherish Tammy’s memory are her son, James Lee Hale; sisters, Sherry E. Taylor and husband, Terry; Cindy M. Burford and husband, Tim, and Debbie J. Kendrick and husband, Kelly, as well as her brother, Gary Letcher.The family will welcome friends for a time of visitation on Wednesday, August 28. 2024, from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of John M. Oakey and Son Funeral Home, Salem. Funeral services will begin at 2:00 p.m. and will be conducted by Pastor David Pasture.
