Tazwell Hunt

Tazwell Hunt, 97, of Martinsville, Virginia, passed away Thursday, March 7, 2024. He was born September 17, 1926, in Rocky Mount, Virginia, to the late James Allen Hunt and Mary Cundiff Hunt.

Tazwell was a member and attended Spring Street Baptist Church. He proudly served his country in both the United States Marine Corps during World War II and in the United Sates Army. He worked as a truck driver for more than fifty years. In his free time, you could find him tinkering in small engine repair or spending his day fishing. Tazwell had a great sense of humor; he was a kind and gentle soul. His most treasured moments were those spent with family.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Patricia Marshall Hunt; sisters, Sis, Kathy, Sunny, and Lee.

He is survived by his daughter, Kay Kieselbach (Eric); son, Danny Hunt (Brynn); grandchildren, Liza, Grant, Abigail, Josiah; and great granddaughter, Filomena.

The family would like to thank the team at Mountain Valley Hospice for their care and kindness.

A Graveside Service will be held Monday, March 11, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Roselawn Burial Park with Pastor Erik Kieselbach officiating.
