Teresa Christine Cole Nelson

TERESA CHRISTINE NELSON, 65, of Rocky Gap, VA, passed away Tuesday, October 21, 2025 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital.  She was born December 24, 1959 in Princeton, WV, the daughter of the late Harry & Virginia Cole.

Teresa was of Pentecostal and Church of God faith. She believed in prayer and God’s healing powers. She never had anything bad to say about anyone.

She was a wonderful mother and homemaker. She grew large gardens and loved to can. She loved flowers and the fall foliage. She loved all animals, especially her puppies.

Teresa will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her.

Teresa was preceded in death by her parents, Harry Edgar & Virginia Claire Thomas Cole, her husband, Arvin Mason Nelson, her son, Charles Burman Nelson and two brothers, Terry Cole and Stevie Cole.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Shellie Renee Nelson; her brother & sisters-in-law, Rusty & Gloria Cole and Nancy Cole; special nieces and nephew, Sherry Bailey, Kyle Bailey and Chelsea Brinkley; and her special pet companions, her puppies, “Xena,” “Bodhi,” and “Roux.”

Per her wishes, she has been cremated. The family plans to have a memorial service at a later date.
