Teresa Frye

Teresa Joan Nicely Frye, age 75, of Clifton Forge, Virginia, died Tuesday, December 5, 2023.
Teresa was born on July 17, 1948 in Alleghany County, Virginia to the late Warren Joseph Nicely, Sr. and Virginia Putnam Nicely. She was a homemaker throughout her life and enjoyed completing home improvement projects with her husband. She also loved spending time with her grandchildren and was a member of the SWVA Emmaus Community and the Alleghany Angels Reunion Group. She was known for her great sense of humor.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Glenn Frye, Sr.; eight brothers, Peter Nicely, Clyde D. Nicely, David G. Nicely, Warren J. Nicely, Jr., Bertrand F. Nicely, Hudnall A. Nicely, Ryland Jake Nicely, and Keith P. Nicely; and a sister, Victoria Nicely.
She is survived by her children, James Calvin Frye and wife Tayne of Goochland, Michelle Reed and husband John of Clifton Forge, and Joe Glenn Frye, Jr. and wife Holly of West Lake; thirteen grandchildren, Brittany, Madison, Tristan, Haley, Jessica, Zachary, John Paul, Zack, Travis, Coleton, Dutch, Maggie, and Will; six great grandchildren, Jack, Harry, Lottie, Kennedy, Ezra, Justice; a host of nieces and nephews; her dog, August; and many neighborhood friends.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 12, 2023 at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge with Mr. Chris Fisher and Pastor John Reed officiating. Following the funeral, interment will take place at 2:00 PM in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens in Roanoke. The family will receive friends on Tuesday morning from 10:00 AM until the time of service at Nicely Funeral Home.
