Born on March 29, 1956, in Lynchburg, she was the daughter of the late Shirley Wooldridge Tucker and Norman R. “Buddy” Tucker. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a niece, Stephanie Augis.

A graduate of E.C. Glass High School and CVCC, Teresa began her professional career at Nationwide Insurance before transitioning to Sears Optical, where she worked for many years as an optician. She was deeply loved by her husband and children, and her home was a place of warmth, love, and laughter.

Teresa was a longtime member of Fairview Christian Church, where she served in various children’s ministries. She was also known for her beautiful voice, singing in the church choir and sharing her musical talent with the congregation. Over the years, she helped lead many children to Christ, touching countless lives with her gentle spirit and unwavering faith.

In her spare time, Teresa had a passion for building large-scale Lego models, completing intricate crossword puzzles, and working on diamond art. She also loved to challenge herself with escape room games, always seeking out new adventures and ways to engage her creativity. Her nurturing and positive presence made everyone around her feel special.

She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Keith Sandifer; two daughters, Jamie Staten (Jame), Valerie Greenwood (Logan); grandson, Zackary Greenwood; sister, Donna Seamster; brother Danny Tucker (Darlene); nieces, Mary Stanley, Ivy Henry, Allie Brooks, Sarah Augis, and Donald Dieffenbach; many great nieces and great nephews; and her special furry grandchildren, Jackson, Simba, Tucker, Flynn, and Opie.

Teresa’s legacy lives on in the hearts of her family, friends, and all the children whose lives she touched. She was truly a woman of faith, a loving wife and mother, and a servant to those in need. Her memory will be cherished forever.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests any memorial contributions be made to Fairview Christian Church c/o Children’s Ministries, 2701 Campbell Ave, Lynchburg, VA 24501.
