Terry Lee Steele

Terry Lee Steele “Diddy”, age 79 of Rocky Mount died Friday, August 29, 2025. He was born January 6, 1946 a son of the late Earl Lee Steele and Mildred Leona Jones Steele. Terry graduated Virginia Tech with a Bachelor of Science degree in marketing. He worked in Management within the Textile Industry. He lived for his devoted wife and his four daughters, lovingly called “his girls”. He loved music, animals of all kinds, sports, airplanes, trains and Mopar cars. He was Dale Earnhardt, Sr.’s biggest fan. Terry had an infectious sense of humor and was friends with everyone. His hobbies included model trains and planes, bird watching and being a train “foamer”. He was a huge fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Virginia Tech Hokies. Surviving are his wife, Suzanne Dickerson Steele of Rocky Mount; daughters, Katherine Stormer of Midlothian, Elizabeth Harvell (Victor) of Chesterfield, Savannah Oakes (Clay) of Rocky Mount and Sarah Brown of Midlothian; grandchildren, Liliana Stormer, Roman Stormer, Owen Harvell, McKenzie Oakes, Skyler Oakes, Tyler Fellows; Tatum Oakes and Bexley Brown; brothers, Larry Steele of Stuart, FL and Dean Steele of Bassett. A private service with immediate family will be held at a later date.
