Thelma Lee Sanford

Thelma Lee Sanford, 88, of Bassett, Virginia, passed away on September 18, 2023, at Sovah Health-Martinsville. She was born on March 24, 1935, in Paducah, Kentucky, to the late Glenn Lee Layne and the late Annie Thelma Williams Layne. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her granddaughter, Debra Lee Sanford.

Thelma is survived by her daughter, Victoria Blankenship; six grandchildren, Anthony Blankenship, Justin Blankenship, Jennifer Blankenship, Patrick Blankenship, Melena Vazquez, and Miguel Vazquez; and four great grandchildren, Giovani Xaca, Liliana Vazquez, Rosalina Vazquez, and Justin Carlos Blankenship.

A memorial service will be conducted on Saturday, September 30, 2023, at 2:00 PM at the Bassett Funeral Service Chapel in Bassett, Virginia. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral services at the Bassett Funeral Service Chapel.
