Thelma Louise Busby

May 17, 1941 - April 8, 2025

Thelma Louise Busby, 83, of Ridgeway, Virginia, transitioned to her heavenly home Tuesday, April 8, 2025. She was born May 17, 1941, in Monongalia County, West Virginia, to the late Howard Lambert and Evelyn Koon Waller.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Isaac William Busby, Jr.

Thelma was a remarkable woman who dedicated over fifteen years of her life to the retail industry, showing both determination and a strong work ethic. At seventy-one years old, in the midst of her battle with breast cancer, she accomplished a lifelong goal by earning her GED – an inspiring testament to her strength and perseverance. A devoted member of Fontaine Baptist Church, Thelma was a Godly woman whose love for the Lord shaped every part of her life. She cherished her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and found joy in sharing the gospel with others. With a green thumb and a love for gardening, she nurtured both plants and people with care and kindness. Known for her sharp wit and playful sense of humor, Thelma could always bring a smile to your face. Her greatest hope was to one day meet the Lord, and she lived each day in joyful anticipation of that promise.

She is survived by her daughters, Michelle Coulson Davis, Tami Renea Lawson, and Emily Busby Fackler; sons, Michael Lawrence Turner (Monica) and Steven Allen Evans (Rhonda); sister, Shirley Ann Drennen; brother, Richard David Lambert; nine grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 12, 2025, at 4:00 PM at Fontaine Baptist Church with Pastor Merle Brown officiating. The family will receive friends and family at other times at the home.
