Thomas Cornelius Turner

Thomas Cornelius Turner, 73, of Bassett, Virginia, passed away Saturday, April 5, 2025. He was born March 26, 1952, in Martinsville, Virginia, to the late Carlisle Turner and Stella Turner.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Diane Porter; sister, Caroline Turner; and brother, Donnie Turner.

Thomas proudly served his country in the U.S. Army, a testament to his strong sense of duty and honor. He and his beloved wife, Diane, shared over thirty wonderful years together, filled with love, laughter, and devotion. Tom was a truly positive person always bringing joy to those around him. He lovingly cared for Diane for many years, showing his deep compassion and commitment. A true character, Tom loved to watch cowboy westerns on TV and was known for his sense of humor, always encouraging others to smile and enjoy life.

He is survived by his step-sons, Mark Porter and Michael Boyd; and nephews, Christopher Reynolds and Timmy Turner.
