Thomas Custer
Thomas Edward Custer, known affectionately as Tommy, passed away on January 5, 2026, in Roanoke, Virginia, at the age of 68. Born on June 18, 1957, in Roanoke, VA, he was the beloved son of the late Robert and Hazel Custer. Tommy was a fun-loving and free-spirited individual whose generosity and kindness earned him the admiration and friendship of many. He had a heart of gold and cherished the time he spent with his family and friends. His passion for motorcycles and hot rods was well-known, and he could often be found riding or working on his vehicles during his free time. He is survived by his brother, Larry Custer; his sister, Linda Duncan, and her husband, John Hammock; nephew, Andrew Duncan, his wife, Julia, and their two children, Henry and Evelyn. He is also survived by Teresa Custer; his daughter Kayla Bradley and husband Will, and grandsons, Landon and Austin Bradley, whom he cherished greatly. A service to honor Tommy's life will be held on January 10, 2026, at John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home in Salem, VA. Visitation will be held from 11 am - 1 pm, followed by a celebration of life at 1:00 pm at Mac and Bob's Restaurant in Salem.
