Thomas Loving

Mr. Thomas Van Loving, age 74, of Covington, died Sunday, November 24, 2024, at LewisGale Medical Center, Salem.
Mr. Loving was born May 22, 1950 in Covington, the son of the late James Patton Loving, Sr. and Naomi Ruth Campbell Loving. He was a former resident of Harrisonburg, VA and a resident of this community for most of his life. Van was employed as an iron worker for National Boiler until his retirement. He was a member of the Covington Moose Lodge #610 L.O.O.M.
Mr. Loving is survived by his son, Thomas Benjamin Loving of Covington; a daughter, Heather Staci Loving Randall and husband, Tim of Broadway; five grandchildren, Mackenzie Alexis Kinney, Michaela Sky Loving, James Thomas Loving, Elizabeth Grace Loving, Maeleigh Jeal Loving; one great grandson, Rawley James Loving; a brother, James Patton Loving, Jr. and wife, Lynda of Covington; nieces and nephews, Tamara Loving Elkins and husband, Tony, James Patton Loving, III, Kelly Starr Loving, Stephanie Marie Loving, Crystal Meadows and husband, Paul and Michael McKinney and wife, Linda.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Loving was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Laurel Loving and a brother, Charles Timothy "Tim" Loving.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, December 3, 2024 from the chapel of Loving Funeral Home with Rev. Doug Hollenbeck officiating. Interment will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Monday evening, December 2, 2024, from 7:00 P.M. until 8:30 P.M. at Loving Funeral Home.
