Thomas Ray Light

Thomas Ray Light, age 82, of Blacksburg, died Thursday, October 30, 2025, at his home. He was born in Montgomery County, Va., on January 21, 1943, to the late Roy and Norma Vaught Light. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Linda Moles, and his son, Michael Ray Light. He is survived by his wife, Julia Ann Light; sons and daughters-in-law, Mark and Angie Light, and Greg and Tania Warden; sisters and brother-in-law, Christine Sowers, Lorraine Lawrence, Vivian Austin, Judy, and Marshall McNeil; grandchildren, Emma Schwartz (Billy), Ellen Warden, and Eric Warden, William and Michael Pearce; great-grandchildren, Nova Lynn Pearce, Alex Pearce and Everly Schwartz; furbaby, Benji, numerous nieces and nephews and special caregiver, Karen Mabry; Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, at 1:00 pm in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Leon Alley officiating. Interment will follow in the Iddings Cemetery in Pilot, Va. The family will receive friends from 11:00 to 1:00 pm before the service.
