Thomas Roger Byers

Thomas Roger Byers, 61, of Roanoke, VA, died Thursday, January 29, 2026, at LewisGale Medical Center following a long illness.

Thomas was born May 28, 1964, in Roanoke, VA. He was preceded in death by his parents, Oliver “O.T.” Byers (Barbara Byers) and Ada Jean Givens (Bill Givens); his son, Joshua Mannon Byers; and brothers, Dean Clark and Daniel Byers.

He is survived by his daughters, Shawn Thompson (Jonathan Hagee) and Brittany Arnold (Michael Arnold); grandchildren, Sarrina King, Shylynne Thompson, Zoii Creel, Zoey Hagee, and Zaedyn Hagee; brother, Jeffery Byers; sister, Vicky Asberry; many nieces and nephews; and his dog, Dexter.

His grandchildren were his world, and he had a love for animals. Our father was a great man and would do anything to help anyone out. He is truly going to be missed by many.
